We’re going on a bear hunt.
Happy 2026! This month, we’re diving into our first unit of the year: Bears and Hibernation. Perfect for children aged 3–8, this theme blends Maths, Science, English, and sensory play, with activities for toddlers too. From exploring bear habitats and hibernation to creating forest play mats and hands-on sensory trays, there are endless opportunities for learning, imagination, and family engagement. Baking, crafts, and playful prompts bring the theme to life at home or in the classroom. Join us on this bear-filled adventure, where curiosity, creativity, and discovery roam free — and see where your little ones’ imaginations take them!
Polar themed play mat
Discover the magic of open-ended play with our polar-themed play mat. Inspired by Waldorf education, this handmade mat invites toddlers to explore, imagine, and create their own stories — from wandering polar bears to icy fishing lakes. Using simple materials and a touch of creativity, you can craft meaningful sensory experiences right at home. These mats support early cognitive development, language, emotional connection, and imaginative play, all while encouraging independence. Perfect for short bursts of play, each mat can grow and change with your child. Let curiosity lead the way, and see where their imagination takes them.
Our 2026 family goals
2026 is shaping up to be a year of adventure, connection, and creativity for our family. From exploring Japan with our little one to making every month feel as magical as Christmas, we’re embracing seasonal fun, learning, and new experiences together. This year, we’re focusing on building community, developing our skills, and spending more time outside — aiming for 1,000 hours of fresh-air play. Each goal ties back to Summers Sensory & Co, helping us share real-life inspiration for families and educators alike. Here’s to a year of discovery, joy, and meaningful moments together.
2026 Roadmap
A new year, a fresh chapter. In 2026, Summers Sensory & Co is focusing on play-based, inclusive learning for children aged 2–8, alongside reflective blog content and seasonal resources. Each quarter follows the rhythms of child development, the seasons, and real family life — from Bears & Hibernation in January to Families & Winter Traditions in December. These themes are designed to be flexible, playful, and developmentally appropriate, allowing children and families to explore, imagine, and grow together. Join us as we embark on this exciting year of creativity, learning, and meaningful play.
Happy Christmas!
Happy Christmas!
The past few weeks have been full in the quietest and loudest ways — travel, family time, and moments that gently nudged us to slow down. This space went a little still while we focused on being present, but creativity continued behind the scenes. As the year draws to a close, this post is a gentle pause and reflection: on where we’ve been, what we’ve been creating, and how this space will evolve moving forward. A slower place for play-based learning, family life, and thoughtful reflections, carried with us into the new year.
